Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 2026-07-14
Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Status: in place in several areas, not yet formally audited — stated honestly below, the same way we treat every other claim on this site.
What's actually implemented today
| Area | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Keyboard navigation | In place | All navigation, buttons and links are standard, keyboard-operable elements — no custom widgets that trap focus. |
| Visible focus indicators | In place | A 3px high-contrast focus outline appears on every interactive element when navigating by keyboard. |
| Skip-to-content links | In place | Every page offers a skip link as the first focusable element. |
| Reduced motion | In place | All animation and transition effects are disabled site-wide when the OS-level "reduce motion" preference is set. |
| Semantic structure & landmarks | In place | Sections carry descriptive aria-label attributes; heading levels follow a logical order. |
| Image alt text | In place | Logos and meaningful images carry descriptive alt text; purely decorative marks are marked accordingly. |
| Forms | Not applicable | The site uses mailto: links rather than on-page forms, so there are no form-accessibility issues to solve yet. |
| Colour contrast | Not formally audited | The dark navy/paper palette was chosen for high contrast, but we haven't run a full automated or manual contrast audit against every colour pairing yet. |
| Screen-reader testing | Not formally audited | Built with semantic HTML and ARIA labels, but not yet tested end-to-end with a screen reader by an accessibility specialist. |
| Formal WCAG 2.2 AA conformance audit | Roadmap | We have not commissioned an independent conformance audit or certification. We're stating that plainly rather than claiming a badge we haven't earned. |
